Nothing beats a good discussion

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

I like to argue, discuss and generally mull over a variety of subjects. That’s why we added group discussions to ZoomIn.

To see what discussions are available go to any group page and look under “Discussions” heading. If there aren’t any and you have something to say then you can start a new discussion by clicking on “Start a new discussion” link in the Actions section.

If other people have already started discussions then you will see them all nicely laid out in a table. Just follow the links.

Happy discussing.

My Favourite

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

I forget things all the time so it was important to have some way of not having to remember all the good places on the map yet be able to access them without having to search for them again.

So we added favourites. Once you find a place you like and want to keep for future reference simply click on “Add to favourites” button located in the tool bar just above the map.

To access all your favourite palces click on the “Favourites” link which will show up next to your sign-in status at the top right of any page on ZoomIn site once you’ve signed in.

That’s it. Simple and easy to use.

Looking for a new way to advertise your business?

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

You can use Zoomin to advertise your business!

You can put the location of your business on our maps and add a description and photos.
It’s free and easy.you can add your business to the maps in less than 2 minutes.

Let me show you how by adding the Projectx office to the ZoomIn site.

  1. Go to zoomin.co.nz
Search for your business address. Enter your address in the search bar and press Find or select one of our suggested addresses. e.g.25 Marion street Te Aro
  2. Sign in with your user name and password into the site.
  3. Click on to add a place to the map.
Enter the name of your Business into the name field and click on Save. The page will refresh with place you have just entered.
  4. Click on the Click here to create a description link below the map to add a description of your business.

Enter the description of your in the text box and click Save.
TIP: You can edit your description again by clicking on the description directly.
  5. To add a photo to the place click on to add a photo to the map.
  6. You’re done!

Now you have a friendly url to give you your customers to show how they can get to your business.

Wellurban blog

Friday, April 7th, 2006

I came across the Wellurban blog today – written by Tom Beard. He did a great article on Zoomin (che bro!) – and has added some cool places and photos to the site. His blog covers goings-on in the Wellington urban area – it’s really interesting and well worth a read if you’re a local (or an ex-pat missing the best little city in the world!)

Thanks for the support Tom!
