At Zoomin, we’re using some ajax autocompletion when people enter their search terms.

One of the biggest benefits we’ve found so far is that autocompletion reduces the number of misspelled streets – because as people start to type the name of the street they’re looking for – the street appears below. It also helps if you don’t know if it’s featherston street or featherston road.

We’re working hard on polishing up our streetmapping site for public release. Any day now.

Our co-residents

Monday, October 17th, 2005

Having spent the last week in Creative HQ – I’ve come to meet a few of the residents and former residents.

Silverstripe sells a world-class web content management system. It’s been in development for about 5 years now – these guys started doing “web 2.0” stuff before JB coined the phrase. Super easy-to-use, powerful, extensible and with an awesome AJAX-ed administration console.

Spikefin are former residents of the incubator – they wrote the software that runs the local Hell Pizza franchises. It’s an end-to-end ordering, backoffice and point-of-sale system for modern businesses.
